1st Flavored Dr Pepper Taste Test

As part of our new exhibit, Prototypes and Beyond!, we are doing taste tests again this summer. We are adding different flavorings to Dr Pepper. This week we featured Mango, Strawberry, Raspberry and Watermelon. We then asked the visitors who took the test which flavors they preferred similar to the consumer taste testing that is done by Dr Pepper when they develop their flavor extensions.

Here are the results of today's test:
We had 41 people who took the test.

While most of the participants were from Texas, we had visitors from Minnesota, Denver, Colorado, Oklahoma and even one from Canada participate in our Flavored Dr Pepper Taste Test.

20% were between the ages of 0-10
18% were between the ages of 11-20
7% were between the ages of 21-30
21% were between the ages of 31-40
10% were between the ages of 41-50
5% were between the ages of 51-60
5% were between the ages of 61-70
14% were age 71 and up

Which Flavor did you like Most?
46.34% liked Mango DP the most.
26.83% said they liked Strawberry DP the most.
24.39% said they liked Watermelon DP the most.
19.51% said they liked Raspberry DP the most.

Which flavor did you like the least?
51.22% said they liked Watermelon DP the least.
17.07% said they liked Strawberry DP the least.
12.20% said they liked Mango DP the least.
12.20% said they liked Raspberry DP the least.

Which flavor did you like more than regular Dr Pepper?
26.93% said they liked Mango DP more than regular DP.
21.95% said they did not like any of the flavored DP more than regular DP.
19.51% said they liked Strawberry DP more than regular DP.
14.63% said they liked Raspberry DP more than regular DP.
9.76% said they liked Raspberry DP more than regular DP

Would you purchase any of the flavors if they were sold at your local grocery store?
53.66% said yes.
39.02% said maybe.
4.88% said no.

51.22% said they would buy Mango DP.
46.34% said they would buy Strawberry DP.
34.15% said they would buy Raspberry DP.
26.83% said they would buy Watermelon DP.
